New York City, in the 1970s and '80s, was the heart of the American punk rock movement. Now-legendary artists such as the Ramones, Richard Hell, Talking Heads, and Blondie made their mark and changed rock-n-roll forever.
Patty Heffley was there, not just as a spectator, but as a creator, actively chronicling the scene as a photographer and performing with her band at CBGB and Tier 3
This unique perspective as both a witness and a participant comes though in her pictures, infecting them with the magic of the times.
Patty recently showed in Sex, Death, Rock 'n' Bones exhibition, at CBGB's 313 gallery, March 13 through April 14, 10a-6p daily.
You can see some examples of her work here.
The Hung show was a tremendous success, and you can see some pictures from the preparation and exhibition here.
Prints of Patty's photographs are available.
