Chrystoph Marten is proud to present “I don’t really give a FUCK… 70’s Punk Rock in the United States”, the first public solo exhibition by photographer and former punk rock musician Patty Heffley.
30 years after Sid and Nancy’s legendary relationship found a tragic ending with the stabbing of Nancy Spungen inside the Chelsea Hotel, Patty Heffley provides us with a personal and unmediated retrospective that pays homage to Punk Rock’s most celebrated and notorious performers. Patty’s intimate and vivid images capture the nihilistic swagger and ecstatic live performances of the movement’s key protagonists that spurred the excitement and freedom of a generation.
“I don’t really give a FUCK…” is the first art exhibition hosted by the Chrystoph Marten Salon. The show introduces the manifestation of a new lifestyle experience at our salon that gives emerging talents in the art scene the\par opportunity to showcase their work in a clandestine environment. By merging art with music, fashion and beauty, the Chrystoph Marten Salon is providing an experimental platform for new artistic talent breaking down inhibited social boundaries.
Opening reception: October 30, 2008. 5 – 8 PM. Free. Open to Public.
Location: Chrystoph Marten. 511 West 20 Street, Suite 2s
